Kids Lunch Club – Making a difference one lunch at a time!
Lunches are prepared daily in a commercial kitchen at Grace Anglican Church and delivered to the schools. Lunches consist of a hot or cold main course, fruit, vegetable and a healthy snack for each break.
Lunches are provided free of charge.
Volunteers deliver the nutritious food daily. These contributions are immeasurable, and are vital to the success of this program.
Child poverty remains an issue in the country and this community. Poor nutrition and hunger go hand-in-hand with poverty. Studies show that inadequate nutrition can have a negative impact on a child’s ability to learn, their attendance at school, behavior, and physical health.
The goal of this program is to ensure that all children in Brantford and the surrounding area have access to nutritious food.
Lockdown Lunch Box
The Lockdown Lunch Box provided by Child Hunger Brantford is offered to families within our partner schools. The box is provided once a week, and includes lunch and snack options that will last children through the school week. The Lockdown Lunch Box is provided free of charge and includes a note card that outline assembly options and nutritional food facts.
Here is our Lockdown Lunch Box being delivered to Holy Cross Elementary School in Brantford, Ontario.
We will continue to add programs as funding permits.
